So this year, I'm am determined to go to every dance. Okay, so we only have four, but I'm gonna go to 'em all. We just had Homecoming like three weeks ago and tonight is "Winter Dance". I'm totally going low budget this time. No mani or pedi. I'm using an old dress. My mom is doing my hair. Basically alll I paid for was the ticket and dinner. :D So I actually spent less than 100 dollars. Go me and my economic ways!

Sometime between freshmen and senior year, I've found my passion for Spanish. Three years ago, I was only taking Spanish because it was required, though I was already planning to take the AP course, I never really enjoyed it. I found it boring and a bit too easy. All I had to do was memorize words and learn basic grammar. As the years progressed, I got to learn slang, more complex grammar, and actually converse in Spanish. It's quite a trilling experience actually. I've been to Spain and that changed me, i think. also, I think the teachers in I've had for the past couple of years have really made learning Spanish fun. Now I enjoy listening to music in Spanish, writing in Spanish, and even speaking in Spanish. At times, i wish I knew more Spanish speakers. I'm officially a Spanish geek.

1. Open a music player. 2. Go to 'all music'/'library'. 3. Hit shuffle/repeat/randomise. 4. Find photos of the first 15 artists/bands that come up (no repeats and no cheating). 5. Have people guess who the artists/bands are. 6. Paste this in your journal and do it too, so I can have fun guessing as well.

I finally watched (and bought) "Dr. Horrible's Sing Along Blog". It is an evil work of horrible awesomeness! :D I was anxious to watch the mini-series ever since I heard about it. I'm a big Joss Whedon fan and love musicals. The "blog" satisfied me on both counts.
The characters are hilarious and endearing; the viewer can't help but fall in love with Dr. Horrible. Nathan Fillion makes a stunning performance as the egotistical anti-hero and Felicia Day proves she's leading lady material. All three give fantastic displays vocal talent. Joss shows he's no dummy when it comes to casting. Look out for the renown, yet highly talented Liz Vassey in Act Three.
My favorite song is, "Slipping": Dr. Horrible's insightful ode about society and his evilness. Also enjoyed "Brand New Day", Horrible's rocking revenge song. Both of these songs reminded me of Sweeney Todd due to the the speed singing and dark lyrics. I can't help but love the evilness.
"Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog" can be summed up in one sentence : A musical odyssey about one man's dream to become a super villain." If you are a Whedon fan or love musicals or like to hear the villain's side of the story or all of the above, you MUST watch this show!

I´m in Spain! Literally as I type. The days have gone by so fast. I´ve been to so many museums and cathedrals and churches and monuments. I have just about a bigillion pictures. The language barrier can be difficult; I´ve realized that I don´t know as many Spanish words as I thought. So far, Madrid is my favorite city.
Highlights:
- shopping with my roomates for dresses
- jumping in a fountain in Sevilla after Spain won against Italy
- talking to people from North Carolina at two in the morning by sticking our heads out the hotel windows
- walking a Californian stranger named Kim to her hotel because she was alone
- taking naps and just chilling with my friends in the hotel room
- waking up at 11 during my family stay

Two hours and thirty six minutes more of my birthday!
Today was pretty chill. I still had to go to school which was... meh. Everyone telling me "happy birthday" was pretty sweet though. I had a great time on the bus playing "let's see who can throw this piece of candy down the other person's shirt" (believe or not we actually made the game up on the spot) with my bff. We were cracking up SO bad!
The house cleaner came really late today, so we were forced to leave (by my mom who says that they clean better when we're not home) our house. Pops wanted to go to the park but mom said "there's flies", so we went to the mall instead. So get this: we're walking around the mall with a bag of palabok and a mango cake, as my parents said, "like homeless people" - they were still in their work clothes, very homeless-looking. We were going to sit outside, but my Dad talked to the workers at Sbarro and they let us eat inside. I go to the wash room to wash my hands and I come back to the table and we have paper plates with our silverware from home. I started busting up and teasing my mom. She defended that she was rushed. Anyway, we eat and my Dad is all excited for the cake because he asked the workers to sing "Happy Birthday" to me. I was getting really embarrassed. Thankfully, the workers didn't actually sing to me, but my dad did give a piece of cake to everyone in the restaurant; granted, there were only three other patrons and three workers, but still. We left the restaurant and were walking to Steve and Barry's (my mom wanted to look at the Jessica Parker jeans) when my parents stopped and literally demanded that I ride the carousel. Of course, I can't say no to them, they pay for everything. I insisted that if I had to ride, then so did my mother. She conceded and I started laughing hysterically. The families walking by probably thought we were crazy - I would. All this time, Dad is cracking up and videotaping the whole thing. I was beyond humiliated.
AFter that, we met my siblings at Pinkberry and I told them about our adventure at the mall. They said I was lucky to have such a memorable 17th birthday not-party. I guess I am lucky.

My writing got interrupted multiple times tonight. I was on a roll, then my mom pulled me away. When I got back, i had lost my groove and so decided to edit the thank you video. It was going pretty well the first couple of hours. Then stupid Windows Movie Maker kept freezing. Stupid thing! I was almost done and I just needed to finish cutting in the music and put in the transitions. I was so frustrated! I finally edited the thing. Now, I'm sleepy, but I only wrote a paragraph and a half. Grr!

Yesterday I went to Knotts. I had fun, but I felt so... awkward really. Knotts is no where near as efficient as Disneyland. For some reason the twenty to forty minute lines seemed like hours. The rides never seem worth it. The roller coasters may be more daring, but Disney rides are just classic. I can ride them again and again; at Knotts I really only want to ride once. There are no good parades or shows to watch and I didn't fell like I could just sit and talk. I didn't feel like taking pictures (Disneyland is prettier). So basically I spent the day riding roller coasters. Don't get me wrong. I LOVE roller coasters. I don't know, it just wasn't as enjoyable. I could feel the time slowly ticking away, where as at Disneyland a day feels like an hour. Whatever. My day at Knotts just proved to me Disneyland is WAY better.
iTunes is going to be the death of me. Why do they not have BSG: Razor? Death! iTunes, I want to give you my money. I do, but I need you to have the stuff I want to buy! *grumbles*
I watched Autism: The Musical today. It was a very touching documentary on a group of autistic kids making a musical. There was this one part that completely left me in tears. One of the autistic girls, Lexi, started to like one of the autistic boys. After this is revealed on camera, the film cuts to her singing "I'm Not That Girl" from Wicked. (Everything in my life somehow references Wicked in someway, now.) I was so chocked up. This was the first time that the song made me cry. It was so heart breaking, but in a good way. I have a new appreciation for the song. :D
My Tin Man fic is being pushed aside for while because Glinda is taking up all the space in my mind. She is such an attention whore. Jeez! haha.

I seriously CANNOT wait for Easter break to come!
I have a chem project due, a math test, history quiz, and a practice AP multiple choice test all on on Thursday. DEATH! I have to do an interview tomorrow and I have a meeting on Thursday. Teachers are trying to cram a butt-load of work before break, but more than seventy percent of the student body had already checked out.
History just makes me depressed. Stupid movie!
This time, reading Wicked, I find that I can relate to Glinda. Is that bad? Whatever. I'm borrowing my best friend's book and it is FAT because I stuck post-its on almost every page. I really want to see Wicked again.
I still don't have iTunes on this computer. GRRR!
School has been SO busy. My writing time is non-existent. *tear* Hopefully, my teachers, who think we students have no life what-so-ever outside of school, won't give me an insane amount of homework and I can get back on track.
Break, please, please, come quickly.

OMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGO MGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMG!!!
IT WAS SO GOOD! no, not good... AMAZING! STUNNING! BREATH-TAKING! EXCITING! SPECTACULAR! AWESOME! PHENOMENAL!
I'm so happy, I could melt!
We had great seats! We were seated on the second row of the mezzanine section. I go to sit right smack in the middle of the stage! Though I wasn't able to see the faces up close, the show was still very good. My Gram is so awesome for getting us those seats. From the mezzanine I was able to fully appreciate all of the set design and choreography.
I was so excited to see Wicked! I bought a new green top just for the occasion. The merchandise was sooo expensive, though. My
brother bought me a program for twenty dollars and my sister bought me bracelets for fifteen. STEEP! I wanted a sweatshirt, but they cost sixty-five!
I was so happy that I got to see Megan Hilty and Eden Espinosa! Both of their contracts are coming to an end.
Pink goes good with green!
Eden and Megan were so AMAZING!
Megan was a great Glinda! I really loved how she played up the dumb blonde routine. In my opinion, she acted like a Valley Girl Glinda. I think that's the best way to describe what she was like. There were loads of "foot popping" and "likes". Her tone of voice definitely reminded me of SoCal chica. Megan had a great time adding comedic effect to nearly every line she delivered. Megan excelled in comedic timing. Her pauses were well placed and Miss Popular attitude was so perfect. Vocally, Megan's up to snuff. Not that I didn't she wouldn't be, but it's hard to follow-up the great Kristin Chenoweth. Megan did not disappoint. As far as I could tell, she didn't miss any notes and didn't flub any lines. Her "Popular" and "No Good Deed" performances were my favorites. Megan seems to be made of pure energy. Even from up in the mezzanine, her perkiness seeped into my system.
Eden was a superb Elphaba. I went last night, hoping and praying that she wouldn't be sick or unable to perform. In my own opinion next to Idina Menzel (because OBC wins hands down always no matter what) Eden is the best Elphaba. Eden's been there from the beginning. I think her experience with the character really help sher in delivering a convincing performance. Eden's Elphaba, to me, was very "I don't care what you think". Eden's Elphie was a quick study to Galinda's popular advice. Eden's Elphie seemed very strong throughout the musical. Eden shone during "The Wizard and I" and "What is This Feeling". Eden's "Defying Gravity" though, not my favorite performance by her, was also amazing. It never ceases to amaze me when someone can pull off those notes under such conditions. Eden showed her her great range and terrific vocal talent. Eden's raw emotion in the songs transported me to Oz.
Together, they were a fantastic team! You could tell they were having a great time the entire show. I loved the "Toss toss" routine! that had me rolling!
G: This how you toss your hair...
(both in husky voices)
G: toss, toss ( tosses hair with one hand)
E: toss, toss (windmills her arms in attempt to toss her hair)
G: toss, toss ( tosses hair with one hand)
E: toss, toss (windmills her arms in attempt to toss her hair)
G: toss with no hands (does the shimmy while shaking her head)
E: toss with no hands (does a poor imitation, shaking her arms more than her head)

Presenting the beautiful and talented IDINA MENZEL! OMYGIDDYAUNTILOOOOVEHER! lol. ok. so, Idina was the original Elphaba. I'm such a HUGE fan of hers. Every time I listen to "Defying Gravity" I get the chills (she is THAT good!). I love the pic

SIDENOTE: Totally unrelated to this icon, but I just wanted to say that it's my mom's b-day today!

charmingnotion manipulated the photo to show Idina Mezel (as Elphaba). It's so beautifully tragic! lol.

So, this weekend I finally watched "Tin Man" on the SciFi channel (Thank God for DVR!). This show only fed my Wicked addiction (though it is very different than Wicked). I watched all three parts watching out for anvils (both Wizard of Oz and Wicked).
If I wasn't in hyper-Wicked mode, I probably would have had a hard time getting into the miniseires. First of all, it's not a re-telling of the Wizard of Oz or Wicked, but I already knew that. I read on some boards that this disappointed people, but I wasn't expecting a re-telling (thanks to the article in the magazine, "Entertainment") so I wasn't disappointed at all.
By far, the best episode was part two. I throughly enjoyed the storyline and all of the characters. The special effects were awesome!
My favorite character is Azkadellia, the evil sorceress in this series. Her character is so multi-faceted, how can you not love her?
I recommend this miniseries for anyone who is remotely interested in the Wizard of Oz.

note: All brain functions that are not related to Wicked are SHOVED all the way in the back of my mind. MUHAHAHA! .... I should get more sleep. :P In anticipation of me seeing Wicked the musical I'm shaking things up a bit. I'm going to be changing my icon every couple of days instead of weekly and all of the icons are going to be Wicked related. Can you tell that I am OBSESSED with this musical? No? Well, then you need glasses. Green-tinted glasses. haha

SPOILER WARNING: Facts about the book, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz by L. Frank Baum, the movie "The Wizard of Oz" (1939), the book Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West by Gregory Maguire, and the musical "Wicked".
Note: Blame it all on my history prof. He showed us a website that discussed the symbolism in the The Wonderful Wizard of Oz by L. Frank Baum. Since my mind has been set on permanent "Wicked"-mode (19 more days until I see Wicked!!!) I been thinking about the different verses for this story and thought that it would be cool to see how they are both similar and different from each other. I'm going to go through characters and such from the The Wonderful Wizard of Oz by L. Frank Baum, the movie "The Wizard of Oz" (1939), the book Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West by Gregory Maguire, and the musical "Wicked".
Since I'm going to be seeing the musical, I'll start with the smallest principle role.

It's Rachael Luttrell from SGA. She is so beautiful! Plus I LOVE the character, Teyla Emmagan, that she plays. This icon is the only one I've seen use this photo. It's very dramatic. I love it!

So I didn't have time to post about Tabula Rasa last week and I watched Missing already, so I'm doing a 2-for-1 deal.

"Missing"
( Just say, Thank you for saving my life. )
I don't know why I'm in such a crappy mood. I'm a bit tired... maybe I'm PMSing. lol TMI sorry. :P

I'm a HUGE Chlark fan. I think they make such a cute couple. The chemistry is definitely there. Even though, canon-wise, Clark is destined to be with Lois, I'm still rooting for Chloe. I love her character and think she's a perfect match for Clark.

Play by play of th week so far...
Monday - Class color day
We were green! Heck yes! GO JUNIORS! 09! SO FINE! We came in second place, after the seniors, in the pep assembly. BAH! We're so giving them a run for their money!
Tuesday - Career Day
My friend and I dressed up as directors. We were filming randomly all day. :P We tried to convince our other friends to be in our movie, but it didn't work out so great. :[ It's ok though, it was loads-o-fun. I wore a Phantom of the Opera Las Vegas tee, jeans, white Prison Issue Vans, and a tailored grey suit jacket. :D I carried a "take" sign around for most of the day.
Wednesday - Chapel
We had to go back to uniforms due to Chapel. It was pretty much a normal day. We (school newspaper staff) were busting our butts to meet the deadline. I'm Assistant Copy Editor! :]
Thursday - Sports Day
My friends and I dressed up as TABLE TENNIS (the sport of the gods) players. We looked pretty HAWT in my opinion. lol. I competed in the Spelling Bee (my friend was picked, but she didn't want to go, so I wen tin her place) and got out in the first round. Oh yay! The seniors totally killed us in the events.
Tomorrow, Friday - Maroon & Gold
It's a day to show your Valley spirit. I'm not quite sure what I'll be wearing... But one thing is for sure, we'd better ANNIHILATE the seniors in the pep assembly.

I wanted to go for an overall plain partial theme for all my one person icons. In most cases it worked out. All in all, I stayed pretty true to the theme.
This is a icon of Chloe Sullivan from Smallville. I adore her character ans Allison Mack. I like this icon because it's simplicity is so powerful. I love her eyes. So full of emotion. And the lighting is amazing.
